Autumn, A Time For Change

Hello Friends,

Happy Autumn! As the days shorten and the air turns crisp, the trees begin their transformation with vibrant hues before their leaves fall. Similarly, we have the ability to let go of what’s holding us back, making space for healing, fresh starts, and new opportunities.

Life gives us options. Would you choose to live from a standpoint of control, or embrace a state of true power? Do you find yourself constantly battling to achieve your goals, or are you open to selecting your path and letting the universe guide your journey? At every crossroads, we decide whether to act with intention or react impulsively.

If there’s any part of your life that leaves you unsatisfied, you have the power to change it by:

  • Identifying what’s holding you back
  • Acknowledging these obstacles
  • Altering what’s necessary for your growth
  • Preserving what uplifts you
  • Accepting the unchangeable
  • Taking decisive steps towards your aspirations

Complete the exercise below to discover what might be preventing you from building the life you desire.

Exercise:

Know Thyself

Ask yourself the following questions:

  • What shortcomings do I have?
  • How do I see myself in relationships with others?
  • Am I accepting others easily?
  • Am I critical of others?

If you are critical, then ask yourself the following questions:

  • What do is see in others that I do not like?
  • Do I have the same characteristic within me?
  • If you are happy, continue life!

Recognizing how past experiences shape our present is key to fostering healthy relationships and setting a positive example for future generations.

“At a time when society seems keenly focused on the divisions among us, one similarity persists: in any given moment, every one of us is interacting in relation to someone or something. Past Life Regression Therapy is effective for many issues, and for may reasons. When it comes to relationships, Past life regression can show the history of a person’s threads and connections across all lifetimes on Earth and explore the major themes of these relationships. You Can Heal Your Relationships

Our relationships define our lives. From our romantic relationships to the relationships we have with our parents, children, colleagues and even inanimate things like money, cigarettes, and habits, relationships are truly connected to every aspect of our lives.

The quality of the relationships in our lives can have a profound effect on how we think and feel, both positive and negative. In a positive sense, even when we are not around our partners or families, we can still feel loved and comforted knowing there is someone out there who cares about us. In a negative sense, relationships can hurt us, leave us feeling uncared for, unloved, and unimportant and be the cause of much suffering.

Through my 25+ years of work as a psychotherapist and hypnotherapist, I have found that one of the key influences on people’s relationships is their childhood experience. A painful childhood experience, or a decision you made in childhood about your worth, can affect your relationships significantly. In some cases, the debilitating effects of a childhood trauma never go away and weigh people down throughout their whole lives.

Knowing this, however, means there’s hope for healing your unhealthy relationships. As an example, Mary came to me looking for help with her marriage. At age 45, she had been married for 15 years and had a child with her husband. Still, she felt like her relationship with her husband was coming apart. Even though they lived in the same house, they were living their lives separately. They fought over little things and blamed each other for their unhappiness. He would respond to her with anger and she would always end up in tears.

Mary’s situation is, sadly, all too common. It’s easy to get stuck in a rut, but it’s not necessary to stay there. Healing old wounds and changing old decisions is possible but we first have to resolve our relationships with parents, caretakers and with ourselves. Without loving ourselves, we cannot hope to love others. The key to this is learning how to make peace with the events of our pasts. All of our thoughts—and as a result, our actions—come fundamentally from how we interpreted the experiences in our past. The good news is that there is a way to heal past events, learn our lessons, and move on to live healthier and more prosperous lives.

When Mary first came in to see me, she could not understand why her marriage was so broken. Working with the Relationship Code process, we discovered that whenever Mary and her husband fought, it triggered the same anger and self-judgment that she had felt as a child when her father had overreacted to her. I was able to help Mary forgive her father and mother. Mary also forgave herself for this perceived inadequacy. By forgiving herself and her parents, Mary was able to transform her relationship with her husband.

After her session, whenever Mary thought of her husband, it was with love. She could finally open up to him and as a result he could open up to her, both of them caring for, accepting and loving one another once more.

As outlined in my latest book, The Relationship Code: Heal Your Wounded Heart, healing relationships is not just possible but essential for anyone wishing to fulfill their potential and live the life they desire. When you resolve your issues from the past and forgive yourself and others, you become empowered to live the life you want and achieve the success and loving relationships you desire.

Our Deepest Fear

Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate.

Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure.

It is our light, not our darkness that frightens us.

We ask ourselves, who am I to be brilliant,

Gorgeous, talented and fabulous?

Actually, who are we not to be?

You are a child of God.

Your playing small doesn’t serve the world.

There’s nothing enlightened about shrinking so that other people

Won’t feel insecure around you.

We were born to make manifest the glory of God that is within us.

It’s not just in some of us, it’s in everyone.

And as we let our own light shine,

We consciously give other people permission to do the same.

As we are liberated from our own fears,

Our presence automatically liberates others.

Why New Year’s Resolutions Fail

Every year people make New Year’s resolutions to do different things—lose weight, stop smoking, eat healthier, or star exercising for example. The problem is they rarely do what they made plans to do. Those who attempt to keep their New Year’s resolutions do not usually make it beyond the end of January. Why do people fail so often at keeping promises they make for themselves?

One of the major reasons people fail to keep their New Year’s resolutions is self-sabotage. When you are working towards a goal the subconscious will bring to the surface all the related issues which hinder you from achieving your goal. These blocks are a combination of negative thoughts, beliefs, and emotions that keeps us stuck and linger in the subconscious mind.

By accessing the subconscious mind using a combination of hypnotherapy with psychotherapeutic techniques to get to the root cause of these issues you can release blockages, fears, unwanted behaviours, negative thoughts and emotions, limiting beliefs, addictions and/or afflictions & phobias in order to achieve your goals and unleash your full potential.

When you change your thoughts, beliefs, and emotions, automatically your behavior changes, which affects your health, wealth, and overall life.

“Progress is impossible without change, and those who cannot change their minds cannot change anything.” ~ George Bernard Shaw

Healing Through Past Life Exploration

Journey into the past using Past Life Exploration, find your personal artifacts and transform your life.

Archeologists find artifacts. Past Life Exploration takes you back in time to find your own artifacts that can reveal the root cause of problems like health-issues, fears & phobia’s, relationships and finance etc. Uncovering and resolving these issues, which may stem from the past, often past lives will help you overcome them in the present.

“We are spiritual beings having a human experience” – Pierre Diehard de Chardon (1881-1955)
Past lives are previous lifetimes where your soul experienced a different physical body in a different time and place. This continual cycle of lifetimes, supports the evolution of the soul.

The Ancient Eastern symbol of Ying & Yang represents the soul’s evolution and the development of the physical form; together they form the infinite circle of life- the continual recreation of the body and soul.

Past Life Exploration Therapy is based on the principles of Dharma – The Law of Universal Order and Karma – The Law of Cause & Effect. The purpose of which is to learn the lessons we are meant to, through each lifetime and pave the way to enlightenment.

Past Life Exploration can help you clear and release: relationship contracts; acute, chronic stress and illness; emotional blocks; fears, phobias and anxiety, strange memories, “odd” thoughts and unproductive repetitive behaviours. It promotes physical and emotional healing by reconnecting the ‘lost’ parts of the self.
Past Life Exploration is a powerful tool for self-exploration and healing and does not require you to believe in it for it to work for you.

STRESS MANAGEMENT – Understanding Stress

Knowing the harmful effects of stress, it is in our best interest to control it before it controls our health & well-being.
Stress is the body’s natural response to anything that disturbs its physical, emotional, and/or mental balance. Stress in itself is not good or bad, it is how we respond to it that makes the difference. We may feel that some stress is necessary to motivate us to meet life’s challenges, but in reality it holds us back. When stress becomes constant & chronic, it can have severe consequences. Negative stress manifests as a feeling of heaviness & pressure on our physical/ mental capacities, making us feel overwhelmed, anxious & hampering our performance.
Stress can be internal (guilt) or external (noise); negative (loss of a job) or positive (promotion). The least harmful stress is where we have enough control or some predictability. But when there is no predictability we remain in a state of high-alert and anxiety. At such times we need to increase our resistance to the stressor as we work toward removing or at least reducing it.

The body’s automatic reaction to stress is the ‘fight or flight’ response, which has 3 stages:

  • Stage 1: Alarm – the body releases hormones and prepares for physical action.
  • Stage 2: Resistance – the body tries to simultaneously resist and adapt to the stress and to repair any damage done.
  • Stage 3: Exhaustion – the result of the stress remaining constant, this may start the alarm cycle all over again. This is where disease takes hold of our body/mind resulting in debilitating conditions like migraines, heart conditions, and mental illness.

If stress can cause and contribute to illness, then reducing stress has the opposite effect and can even encourage healing. In managing stress, there are a wide variety of therapeutic approaches available namely, Hypnosis, Progressive (muscular) relaxation, Breathing techniques, Guided imagery and Biofeedback.
All stress management techniques have one crucial common element – Relaxation. Achieving a relaxed and centered state induces peace to replace the anxiety, akin to consciously lighting a candle to dispel the darkness.

“Happiness is not being pained in body or troubled in mind.” – Jefferson

Resolving Insomnia

Dear Friends,

Yesterday I was at the NGH Conference in Marlborough, Massachusetts, teaching a one-day workshop on insomnia with Dr. Jean Eljay from HypnoBiosis. I’ve specialized in insomnia for many years now, and for good reason: as many as 85 million North Americans are affected by sleep disorders, with insomnia first among them. In this time I’ve worked out a few theories of my own for how to heal insomnia.

First of all, though, why do people suffer from insomnia? While I have seen many people simply not sleeping because of poor sleeping habits, the foremost reason is not physical but emotional: something within them is preventing them from relaxing and falling into repose. They may not be consciously aware of it but it is working deep beneath the surface. Usually it is fear, but it really can be anything: anger, anxiety, or any other emotion that pushes people into an alert, defensive stance. Traumatic experiences are especially good at keeping us up at night – even if we don’t remember them.

No one should have to live with this. What I do – and what I teach my students to do is clear the problems at the heart of insomnia. I help people make peace with their parents, siblings, and loved ones so that they can sleep soundly and without worries. I help people let go of their fears and traumas so that nothing stands between them and a good night’s rest.

The effects are immediate and transformative. When someone sleeps for a healthy amount of time, they have more energy but also feel better about themselves, the people around them, and their work. They are more productive, happier, and instantly healthier. Sleep really is the best medicine!

The next time you have trouble falling asleep, take a moment to think about how you feel. It could be more important than you think.

All the best,

Debbie Papadakis
